Southern Medical Association Presents Fifth Annual Medical Dilemmas in Primary Care Conference in New York, NY

Birmingham, Alabama – Southern Medical Association (SMA), will present the Fifth Annual Medical Dilemmas in Primary Care Conference at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan in New York, New York on December 19-21, 2008. Jan N. Basile, MD, Director of the Primary Care Service Line, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and Professor of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine/Geriatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston is presiding as conference chair and faculty. Other distinguished faculty include John F. Fisher, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Infectious Disease Section, at the Medical College of Georgia; Patrick Flume, MD, Professor of Medicine & Pediatrics at MUSC; and Mark G. Martens, MD, FACOG, Clinical Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma, and Chief Medical Officer Heartland Health Institute, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The 2008 Conference on Medical Dilemmas for Primary Care will focus on distinguishing and treating respiratory illnesses, common conflicting recommendations in women’s health, the most recent evidence in treating cardiovascular disease, and the latest developments in antibiotic use and resistance. This Medallion Level CME program is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses specializing or certified in the areas of internal medicine, family or general medicine, geriatric medicine, emergency medicine, and preventive medicine and are highly encouraged to attend this conference.
